You have opened your eyes once and
saw yourself being welcomed to this whole new entire world. Grew up day by day
to become the person reading these words today. Came a long way from buggers
and diapers to zits and ‘Does this shirt go with this bag?’ all the way to
university years. Said your farewells to the days where ice-cream and balloons
made everything okay and entered a world that’s bigger and beyond your parent’s
shelters. Monsters are now bigger than the ones hiding under your bed and
inside the closet and you can no longer depend on your mom and dad.
They
say it’s like a roller coaster out there, filled with ups and downs. I don’t
actually look at it as a ride at some theme park at all. It’s more of a car
that’s heading 300km/hr and burning rubber; you either buckle up and enjoy the
ride no matter how hard the wind blows in your face and no matter how many
speed bumps you face or spend your entire life just struggling to keep up. If
you’re not going to be able to handle the risk and fight for your presence
you’re going to give up eventually and get left behind.
This
journey your taking is all about putting yourself out there and experiencing
new things. So what if you get a little bruised or couple of scratches?? Life
won’t be as fun if you played it safe! You once stepped on Lego yet you managed
to walk it off; the story hasn’t changed. It’s just a new chapter with new
characters filling the pages. You can’t spend eternity buying chocolate
ice-cream; you have to be able to be open to new flavors and new ideas.
Surrender to the strawberry taste as you welcome new colors and new turning
points in your life.
Keep
your foot strong on the gas pedal and keep in mind that when one door closes
there will always be a window or even a crack in the wall where the sun light
will creep and shine its hope upon you. Smile, smile, smile! Smile through it
all! I’m not saying it’s not okay to burst into tears every now and then, but
you shouldn’t morn forever. Life waits for nobody; instead of dwelling over the
past, plan for your next step, learn from your mistakes and welcome what life
throws your way as an experience. What you go through is just a fraction and a
small portion of this existence, there will always be harder falls and stronger
enemies, the fact that you manage to stand on your feet with that ‘I’m
invincible attitude and scare the other team with your mad dog face’ you’ll do
just fine.
Life?! Still
something that puzzles us and leaves us wandering to a world where anything is
possible. You’ll never truly find the answer for it’s not something with an
answer key. Not a single book or an online search will ever give you the true
meaning of it. The only way to find out about it to stop reading
this and just head outside to discover it yourself; to embrace all what it
offers.
Welcome
Life
